The hills (between the two territories)

This area is the perfect place to graze. Only problem is, it's between the two herd's territory. Its a open hilly place with lush grass to eat. It has a one tree in the middle for shade.

Rain grinned at him 'innocently', her ears perked, stunning blue eyes shining brightly. Swaying her head to-and-fro once more in excitement, she pushed on her legs harder, trying to stay at the same pace as the stallion, able to do so only slightly. The paint whinnied in excitement and joy, her eyes observing the grassy hills as they arrived, the grass a very lush green.

(Echo is going to be one of the fastest as well, but not quite as fast as you guys cx)

Echo easily kept up with the herd and watched as many of the brood mothers stayed with the foals. She knew that they would be able to handle them easily, and she was only needed if one of them got hurt, so she let out a loud neigh before opening up her pace, slowly starting to catch up to Quicksilver and Rain. She was two feet behind Rain, and decided to steady out her pace and let out a nicker as the mane shook her head, her mane flipping from side to side. Echo missed running as fast as she could, the herd hadn't done it in a while.

He snorted at her attempt to catch up. He glance back once more surprised she was at his hip now. He riased his brow amused. Taking the challenge he burst into a full out sprint, looking towards the taller hill. Racing up the hill, as the herd break apart going around the hill. He reared again kicking the air skidding to a stop, dirt flying everywhere. Quicksilver landed hard on his hooves back to earth. He snorted, panting slightly from the run. Beads of sweet shine all over his thick structure as the sun over head shine down on his blue silver coat.

Echo continued to keep up with Quicksilver and slid to a stop beside him, breathing hard. The mare let out a nicker as she looked over the stallion, "We should definitely run more." She smiled as she was finally able to catch her breath. She looked over the herd as they spread out to graze all over, her bright blue eyes flicking from group to group.

Rain snorted back, swaying her head, bursting forward with as much speed as she could. After all, she was the second fastest. Blue eyes narrowed in competetiveness, she smirked and galloped beside him, skidding to a halt right next to him, the other side of him as Echo was on his other side. She whinnied, rearing up fully, her head swaying as she was in the air, front hooves kicked outward before she landed on the ground with a almost quiet thump, her eyes shining as she looked at him.

He nudged Rain playfully, tugging on sting of her mane." Maybe next time, doll." He teased, chuckling under his breath. Finally gaining control over his breathing, Quicksilver look over to Echo." when the colts and fillies grow older we wil be doing this more often." Grinning he watched the herd socialize among each other. His merlin colored eyes flicker to the Cimarron territory, wondering briefly what they were up to.

Sage was near the edge of the border, lying on her side. She was breathing heavily from the run but on full alert. She heard something moving and nickered nervously, lifting her head only to see two foals playing near her. She looked at them sternly, making them go back towards the herd then looks at Quicksilver at the top of the hill

(o-o......is it ok if Saint is the 3rd fastest.....since...he kinda is the deputy and he needs to run off predators x3)

Saint's quick trot stayed the same as he surveyed the area from afar, knowing this area was too close to the Cimarron territory for his comfort, he let out a worried snort that only he himself could hear at all. The stallion's ear twitched slightly as he watched the herd from a distance, though he was suppose to be close nearby, Saint himself knew that it was a better idea to go a distance to be able to spot the predators or other horses before they arrived. Saint's black eyes landed on the figures of Quicksilver, Echo, and Rain, it seemed the three of them had ran up the hill. Next Saint's orbs landed on the Brood-mothers named Sage and Fall. It seemed the 1 of those mares where rallying the foals around and making sure they didn't go far and the other was laying on the ground looking disappointed at one of the foals that bothered her. The stallion let a neigh escape his muzzle as he bobbed his head and pawed at the soft luscious grass, probably tearing out little by little pieces of grass.

Filling eyes on him, Quicksilver turn sharply towards the direction. His gaze landed on Sage. Seeing urgency in her bright eyes, he slid down the hill, flicking his tail at the two behind him, letting them know he be back. Walking to Sage, his eyes narrow curious of the problem. He stopped in front of her, lifting his head to look around. "What's wrong?" He nickered deeply. His ears perked on top of his massive head, picking up on the sounds.

She looked at him, worry in her hazel eyes "The foals got too close to the border and I can hear noises coming from the other side. I am worried that the other herd is near. Maybe a hungry cougar who ventured out of the dark forest" she nickered, looking across the border to where the Cimarron herd resided and snorted nervously when she saw the two foals come back towards her. She gave them another stern look that told them to stay close to the other broodmare and foals and they went back towards the herd "I am worried the foals wont' be able to run fast enough to get away." she grimaced, sighing to herself

Echo watched as the stallion slid down the hill, she turned to the mare that was on the hill beside her, "Well, I'm going to go check on all of the foals and elders to make sure they're all still good." She smiled brightly at her before she walked down the hill and to a large group of horses, checking on one of the foals who had taken a small fall on the way here, but had no real damage besides a scrape on their leg, which didn't even bleed.

Rain snorted, bobbing her head slightly in protest. "I let you win!" she nickered, her head high. Shaking her forelock, she watched as Quicksilver trotted down the hill towards Sage, something wrong. The paint would have followed had he not flicked his tail to let her and Echo know he'd be back. With a shrug, she leaned over and ripped a bit of the luscious grass out of the ground, chewing it in her mouth. Rain nodded at Echo, smiling slightly, her head nodding towards her in a 'goodbye' sort of way. The brown and white mare continued grazing on the top of the hill, her tail swinging to-and-fro.

After the red mare expressed her worries, she got up and quickly trotted towards the foals. She nudged the one she had ran with and let out a high pitched neigh when she saw the two foals once again to close to the border. warning them not to go over there. She ran over quickly and herded them back over to the other foals where she made sure they stayed, standing not far off and keeping a watchful eye over the both of them

His frown deepen hearing Sage's worries. He nodded to her in thanks. He breath in deeply hopeing to find the source of the smell. He flicked his tail in annoyance unable to catch anything new, only horse scent. He lower his head staring into their territory hoping to spot what ever it was. Snorting he pawed the ground, glaring at nothing. His ears pinned against his skull in aggravation. The wind didn't bring in the scent of Cimarron so it had to be something. He stood there on high alert.

Sage went back over to Quicksilver once the foals began to settle down. She sighed, lying back down in the same spot that she had gotten up from. Her nostrils flared as the scent of something strange entered it only to be gone in seconds. Her ears flattened against her head in fright but her face remained stoic and relaxed.

Saint's ears perked forward as his attention was set onto the giant stallion Quicksilver. From the looks of it, something was wrong. The black stallion let a quick walk over take his speed as he made his way towards the lead male. As Saint went to stand by Quicksilver, Saint saw the golden texture of Sage's soft coat, and when he made eye contact with the mare he nodded a kind greeting to her before his attention returned to Quicksilver, his left ear twitching and his right ear focused on any sound.




Fall let a agitated snort escape her muzzle as Ginger, the foal who had woken her up, tackled some of the foals who had been unaware of her roughness in 'play' "Ginger!do you know how to treat others with respect? cause if you do i would like it if ya apologized to the others. That was mighty rude of you to do that" She raised her head to the foals height, and when the foal nodded, Fall nuzzled her away towards the others.

The kind mare looked at the stallion, a smile appearing on her face for only a moment before she looked back towards the foals and Fall. She felt bad for not remaining over with them but she had to have a moment alone to let her shoulder relax a bit so it wouldn't hurt her when she walked. She watched the foals carefully, her ears facing that way to hear absolutely any sound of danger or any sound of distress coming from the foals

Becoming bored with just grazing at the top of the hill, Rain looked around, her eyes stopping on Quicksilver and Sage, who both looked just a bit worried about something. With a soft nicker, she galloped down the hill, stopping by the stallions side. "What's the matter?" she asked, her head cocked slightly, her nostrils flaring as she tried to pick up a scent, to see if that was what was worrying the two.

He snorted, ears flickering acknowledging the others." Something close by. And it's not a horse." He pawed the ground, making dirty fly everywhere. His eyes searching through the long grass for anything different. The large blue silver stallion turned to the two of them." Keep your eyes peeled for a cat. Get some rest sage thank you for letting me know." He added to the mare laying down. He was unable to pick up a scent since they were down wind. He cautiously step forward towards the other herds territory. His skin crawled, instincts telling him a predator was near. He nodded to his deputy and warrior to go around him on each side. His plan was to surround the creature, hopefully scare it off or kill it without the foals to see.

The mare nodded, getting up to go towards the couple of foals who were resting and laid with them. She laid nearest to the one that she had ran with to the hills but carefully watched the stallion from where she was lying and her ears quickly flicked backwards when she heard a yowl, signaling a cougar nearby. She raised her head quickly and let out a whinny to capture the stallions attention.

Saint's head quickly turned towards where Sage was, his black eyes widening as the sound of a mountain lions yowl filled the air. Saint twitched his ear to show that he was going to go check it out, and if he was attacked he would let out a neigh to Quicksilver.

The red mare had already gotten up and was rounding up the foals towards the other broodmare and stood watchfully next to them. She watched as Saint went towards the sound, whinnying to him nervously and began to follow until she heard another yowl and stopped. She watched as a streak of reddish-brown flash across the grass away from the herd.

Rain nodded, bending over to snatch a mouthful of grass, deciding to stay with the stallion as he watched. After all, she was a guardian as well. Her ears perked forward, nostrils flaring, and eyes widening when the sound of a cougar's roar stretched across the land. She hoofed the ground, shaking her head anxiously. Nodding to Quicksilver and Saint, Rain trotted forward, the opposite way as the deputy, her eyes scanning the area for the mountain lion that had made the sound, her head held high. Sure, she was scared, but she was a rather brave mare and she knew she had to do what she was doing in order to help the herd. With ears perked in alert, she continued slowly trotting forward, a walk even, crystal blue eyes scanning the environment.

Sage watched Rain carefully, a soft whinny of fear escaping her. She saw Rain begin to trot around to search the area and she trotted forwards to meet the mare. "It came from the woods. I saw it. It didn't seem big but I am afraid that it may come back although it looked like it was heading home." she said, now walking next to Rain and looking at her. She nervously began to tremble a bit and she let out an anxious nicker "I am afraid for the foals safety."
